JC’s Daily Essentials!

Happy Monday!

I’m just glad there’s no rain predicted for this week. Y’all, it’s been bad here. It’s like tornadoes and flooding almost every day, every week. Not only is it getting old, it’s getting bad. We have major highways closed. I’m ready for some brighter weather and some better attitudes. Bad weather just sucks the life right out of you!

Today I’m doing a post all about my daily essentials. We all have things we rely on daily – both good and bad! I thought we would round them up here together!

(*You can find last year’s post on my daily essentials here!)

1. The Conair Handheld Steamer

aka

The Miracle Worker

Girls, you need this one. You plug it in for 30 seconds, run it over your clothes, and bam! You’re out the door. No irons or ironing boards or having to worry about burning anyone or anything. It’s the perfect accessory for the gal on the go. Plus, it’s lightweight. I’ve taken it on many a trip, even on a plane. Hardly weighs a few ounces.

2. Chi Straightener

This one has been around for a little while now, but I have yet to find a better one! It heats up to 450 degrees in 0.0006 seconds (that might be a slight exaggeration, but it’s fast!) It gives my hair the perfect smoothness and shine. Remember always to use heat protectant on your hair first!

3. The “Herstyler” Curling Wand

For all of you who cannot for the life of you figure out how to properly curl your hair (like yours truly) this one is for you! It heats up quickly and to a much higher temp than most all other curling irons. So high in fact that it comes with a glove to wear when using it. I love that it’s clamp-less, so it doesn’t leave a big crease in my hair. It’s the perfect curling iron for gals like me!

You know who you are. Grin!

4. Essie Nail Polish

I almost always have my nails painted, and they are almost always painted with Essie nail polishes. They seem to go on smoothly with no bubbling, stay put and are easy to remove with no staining. I love OPI, too, don’t get me wrong, but it seems to stain my nails even with a bottom coat. Does that happen to anyone else or just me?

5. Bath and Body Works Hand Soap

I may be a little bit of a hand soap snob. At least BBW isn’t too expensive. I like these because you can get the original soap, the moisturizing kind that looks almost like lotion and the foam kind. The foam is my personal favorite because it’s clean and it doesn’t stick to the sink if it drips or if it doesn’t wash completely out the first round. Ya know what I mean? I feel fresh and well-scented after I wash my hands. Which I do A LOT. I work in a nursing home, folks!

6. Minnetonka Slippers

These are the most comfy slippers ever. End of story.

And they have a nice gum sole, so you can wear them to take out the trash – or take your dog out on the back porch to tinkle 95 times a day…

Who would have to do a thing like that???…

7. True Lemon

I found these little water add ins by mistake, and I have told everyone about them. It’s about time I shared them with my readers too. They are truly crystalized lemon. There’s no sugar. They aren’t any kind of “ades”. It tastes like you squeezed just one little lemon wedge in your water. Just lemon juice. Perfect for me.

8. A Good Book

I don’t go anywhere without a good book. I always have at least one book going, usually 2 or 3 (one fiction, one Christian inspo…) I love to read!

I’m currently reading this one by Jennifer Weiner! Have any of you read it yet?

(You can see a list of all the books I’ve read so far this year here and my 2015 list here.)

9. Magazines

In addition to books, I also have tons of magazines. I’m a total magazine hog. I have them everywhere. I think I currently have 13 subscriptions. Some come from my Books-a-Million membership, so I don’t actually pay for all 13. The nursing home enjoys my hand me downs!

10. Good Skincare Products

I’ve said it a thousand times, I am obsessed with skincare products. They are definitely on my daily essentials list.

Aloette “Gentle Foaming Cleanser”, “Skin Refining Toner” and “Nutri-C Moisture Creme”

(I’ve blogged about Aloette approximately 1,297 times, but to learn more you can read here and here.)

11. Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream

(I was going to stop at 10, but I wanted to share this goody with you too! I’m awesome like that!)

If you have dry cuticles use this. You’ll thank me. They will definitely be healed.

 I use it EVERY night.

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!
