I love sharing bits and pieces of my life and faith with you here on the blog. I’m very proud of what my little community has become and look forward to seeing it grow even more!

PERSONAL
How did you meet Judson? I met Judson in 2014 when he was working in the Hattiesburg, MS area as a Co-Op student from Mississippi State University.
Do you really live in a lodge? Yes! Our home was originally constructed as a hunting lodge on a game reserve. Judson turned the acreage into farmland, and we live in the lodge on the property.
Liam is so cute! Do you want more children? I will say yes for now. Liam is full of energy and always on the go with little sleep. I’ll be 40 in 2024, so we shall see.
How many pets do you have? ELEVEN: seven dogs and four cats. I know I’m crazy! I only brought Peanut* into the marriage. We have male and female Australian Shepherds – Jackson and Ellie, a giant Cur – Molly, black lab mix – Grandpa, beagle – Jake, Chihuahua – Pearl, and a mutt, Emma. The cats are Jinx, Smudge, Ashes, and Astro.
*Update – My beloved Peanut passed away in November 2020.

What are your go-to skin care products? All of my must-have beauty products are Aloette. I have an updated skincare, hair, and makeup post coming soon!
What did you study in school? From The University of Southern Mississippi I have a Bachelor’s in Mass Communication and a Graduate Certificate in Music Education. I finished my Master’s in Theological Studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2020.
Where have you traveled, and what is your favorite place to visit? I love to travel, but I don’t feel I have experienced nearly enough. I have been to 41 states + DC and six countries – Mexico, Jamaica, Scotland, Holland, England, Cayman Islands/BWIs. I have different favorites for different reasons, so I will share this: favorite state(s) – Minnesota and North Carolina; favorite country – Scotland; favorite international city – London. I know you love to read, but do you have a favorite book? I will narrow it down to a few. Christy by Catherine Marshall, The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, and The Last Jihad series by Joel C. Rosenberg. What is your connection to Alzheimer’s? My mother was diagnosed with dementia in her early 40s. So young, I know. After years of testing it was determined that she had Vascular Dementia (a completely different disease than Alzheimer’s) due to dozens of mini strokes. We do not know exactly what caused her to have so many strokes, but after you’ve had one or two, you most definitely will have more. In an effort to raise awareness (and deep down looking for any possible treatment or hope), I became very active with the Alzheimer’s Association. This was the springboard step to my 13 year career in senior care. I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Certified Trainer, memory care consultant, and I am a certified Alzheimer’s/dementia care support group facilitator. I still do consulting work for memory care facilities today.

I’m new to studying the Bible. Where should I start? I’m so happy you are taking the time to learn God’s Word! I always suggest beginning with the book of John. If you’re interested in learning more, I wrote a post on where to start studying your Bible here.
