Lynn Meadows Discovery Center + Beach
Welcome back, Friends! If I don’t thank you enough, I am so grateful to you for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I hope you are encouraged to enjoy everyday life through the posts I share. I want you find happiness in the little things as well as the big. To intentionally focus on where you are.
Today I am going to recap our trip to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport, MS. Liam has been begging to go to the beach, so my brother, the infamous Uncle T, and I decided to make a full day of things on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I knew Liam would love Lynn Meadows – especially the trains. Let’s take a look!
So this tall, climbing apparatus that I don’t know how to describe completely bumfoozled my toddler. Note to parents – make sure the kids know what they’re doing. I had to find a couple other little kids and have them climb up two stories to help navigate Liam to an exit. Parents don’t fit, so I couldn’t help him and he didn’t understand my directions. He was relieved to get out of it. Now to the good stuff…
Liam adores trains!
And of course after his trip to Space Camp, he was very familiar with rocketships and loved piloting this one. Uncle T and I had to strap in the back.
He’s always playing the piano at our house, so he sat down and performed a concert for us on the yellow “pano”.
“Tea, anyone?”
Caption this cuteness!
“I just met you, and this is crazy…call me maybe?”
Uncle T is a bigwig at the local news, so he showed Liam how to get on camera and interview a guest.
The science and technology exhibits were really cool.
Not sure what’s going on here, but when your toddler gives you something to eat, you eat it!
We also enjoyed the craft room.
My funky monkeys
Murky Waters BBQ for lunch!
Then it was finally beach time!
He had the best time on the beach! We didn’t really go in the water because, well, it’s the MS Gulf Coast. Do your research. He played and played in the sand and splashed around when the tide came in. Unfortunately, as toddlers do, he got sand in his eyes in the first 20 or so minutes and we had to leave. Tis toddler life!

I love making little memories like this with my boy. They don’t have to be extravagant or expensive. Little day trips mean just as much as the big vacations. That being said, I’d love for you to give me your best suggestions on day trips and mini adventures in the comments. Where would you go, and what would you do? I can’t wait to read your responses!
