Hello Again!
Every now and then I feel like I should do an introduction (or reintroduction for those of you who have been following my blog for awhile!) and tell you a little about myself and how this blog came to be. I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for four and a half years! Where does the time go? There are new faces visiting from time to time, so today I thought I’d share a little more background with you!
Hi! I’m Jean Claire. I grew up in a small town in Mississippi – the birthplace of Elvis and humidity! After high school I attended The University of Southern Mississippi where I studied both Music Education and Public Relations. I wanted to be a singer, preferably in musical theater or a Christian recording artist.
I am neither. Ha!
God had something completely different in mind for me. I am a published writer and Christian speaker who has spoken to audiences of hundreds. I also worked 12 years in the healthcare field, seven specifically in senior care. My mother was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in her 40s, so I have spent over half of my life as a caregiver. This allowed me an excellent platform to work with other families going through the same thing. I’ve worked in home care, assisted living, and skilled nursing homes. It has been a very rewarding but often heartbreaking 12 years.
But God…
In the summer of 2014 I met a man who would change my life forever. Enter this hottie right here…
I finally convinced Judson Bounds to marry me in November 2017 after dating forever! He moved this stiletto-wearing city girl to a farm in Central Mississippi. After studying Electrical Engineering at Mississippi State University, he decided to take a chance and do what he loves – farm. I don’t know if I will ever get used to farm life, but I certainly love the farmer!
I brought my first love into the marriage with me – the sweetest little Chihuahua in the world – and we have since added 4 more furbabies to the family. (Judson takes no responsibility for these additions. He agreed to Cat #1, but the other three were all me!)
Our cup runneth over with pets! (You can read more above Peanut, Jinx, Ellie, Smudge, and Sadie by clicking on their names.)
And this past February 2019 we added another little critter to our family, Liam (known as Baby Bounds here on the blog!) He has changed our lives forever and has been the greatest blessing I could ever ask for. I am now a stay-at-home mom and loving every hard minute of it!
I started blogging in September of 2014 to have more opportunities to write and share the everyday happiness of life. My original site was “Vogue Happiness“, but the longer I blogged and created community, I knew I needed to own my own website – now known as JeanClaireMonroe.com! I enjoy having my own community of happiness on here and being able to share all the things I love with you. I post all things happy – family, food, fun, travel, fashion, and beauty. And let’s face it…I post a lot of pictures of that cute Chihuahua!
I am so thankful that you have found my blog, whether in 2014 or 2019. I hope to share many more years with you!
***But now I want to hear from you!***

Anonymous, I don’t know who you are or if you will read this reply, but THANK YOU. Your words are so sweet. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. It is truly my greatest joy to point others to Jesus by not just words, but actions. I thank God for you and appreciate you reading my blog! – JC
