What’s Up Wednesday {4.24.19}

What’s up, Wednesday?

It’s been a looonnnngggg time since I linked up with Shay and Sheaffer for a WUW post, and no time is better than the present. On the last Wednesday of the month we share a little look at what’s been going on in our lives. We talk family, reads, fun, you name it!

What We’re Eating…

This meat loaf is THE meat loaf that converted me into a meat loaf fan. It's SO delicious and easy to make! You can use ground venison or ground beef in this recipe.

We eat all things venison in the Bounds home, and this meatloaf is as good (and easy!) as it gets.

The Bundt Cakes on this blog are my babies.  The Bundt Cakes started it all. ...

And for dessert, I’ve been working my way through blogger Shay’s Cakes book. I just scored several Cadbury Cream Eggs on after Easter prices, so that cake is up next!

What I’m Reminiscing About…

Liam’s first Easter! I had so much fun celebrating with him. You can read all about our Easter fun here. I love finally being a mommy!

What I’m Loving…

We have had some beautiful weather lately (interspersed with severe thunderstorms and tornadoes!), so we have been trying to spend some time outside. I will read with Baby Bounds on the porch swing, and I will push him in his stroller when the driveway isn’t a muddy disaster. The joys of living on a farm!

What We’ve Been Up To…

Right now it’s all Liam all the time.

We’ve been spending a lot of time with Papa John…

(Liam finally met my mom last week! More on that Friday!)

I introduced him to his “Adopted” Great-grandmother…

(I declared the Brantleys my adopted grandparents several years ago since mine passed quite awhile ago.)

We met up with another adopted family member too – his “Aunt” Sandy and her three kiddos. Sandy got to meet him the day he was born, but this was his first time meeting the twins and Kara. I worry about what those boys are going to be teaching him…!

What I’m Dreading…

Nothing at the moment!

What I’m Working On…

I am loving being a stay at home mom. I’m working on more blog posts, a short story about Liam, and just spending time with him and the furbabies.

What I’m Excited About...

Lazy summer days with Liam!

We definitely need a new kiddy pool. Ellie had her own, and it’s kind of a mess. I’m not putting my baby (or me) in it. I’d also like to get a little sandbox too. Jud, if you’re reading this, thank you in advance!

We will be headed to the lake again, this time as a party of 4!

And we are looking forward to all kinds of fresh veggies from Pop’s garden!

What I’ve Been Watching/Reading…

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists (2019 - ) A spin-off from PLLs featuring new liars and a few old ones (Alison & Mona) in the town of Beacon Heights.

I finally caught up on The Perfectionists. I’m curious to hear what you guys think about this one. Do you like it, or are you over PLL?

The Auschwitz Escape ~ By Joel C. Rosenberg ~ "With unspeakable violence escalating against his fellow Jews, Jacob Weisz joins rebel forces working to undermine the Nazi regime. But after a raid goes horribly wrong, he's shipped to a death camp. With the fate of millions in the balance, can Jacob manage an against-all-odds escape---and alert the world to Hitler's actions?" ~ Christianbooks.com

I just finished reading The Auschwitz Escape, and y’all, it’s so good! I love Joel C. Rosenberg’s books – this is my 6th. He is a fantastic story teller. I can’t recommend this one enough. And if you’re interested, please support my partner by ordering The Auschwitz Escape from Christianbook.com.

Psssst. I have a HUGE book review coming to you next week. I’m so excited!

What I’m Listening To…

I’m not listening to as much now that I don’t have a three hour daily commute to work. I do still enjoy listening to…

Mouthing Off is great. I love Olivia’s sense of humor and her interviews on travel, influencing, and hiking.

What I’m Wearing…

Not much I’d want to share! Most of my days are spent like this, in pjs or tees and joggers – covered in spit up – and loving every minute of it!

What I’m Doing This Weekend…

Did someone say Crawfish Boil? Because we will be there!

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…

My BIRTHDAY and my first MOTHER’S DAY! And…
