London Part 1

Hey, friends!

Today I am beginning a three part series on my trip to London, England with the Meistersingers of Mississippi. Being a part of this group is one of my most favorite things in life. The music and friendships truly are that good! We have a phenomenal artistic director and accompanist, and I’d just like to say the vocalists are all incredible too. We have the best time making music on Thursday nights and are so excited when we get to travel together.

In 2017 we took to the streets of Broadway in NYC and performed on stage at Lincoln Center. Amazing memories! But London,…London was spectacular in every way. I can’t wait to share the behind the scenes moments with you.

All smiles in the airport!

My good friend Judi from Purvis.

We spent a day travelling, so day one is not pictured. We begin on day 2.

Once we arrived at the hotel, we immediately hit the streets to take advantage of some free time. First stop…

Kensington Palace and Gardens

Jeanie B. and Jeanie B. Ha!

Emerald is my birthstone, so don’t you know I was crushing on these jewels.

Queen Victoria’s doll house

Where Queen Victoria was born.

Kensington Palace was once the home of Charles and Diana, and here is one of her most famous gowns on display.

The King has his own staircase.

The old throne room.

A view of the gardens.

After the palace, Jeanie, Carolyn, and I took a double-decker bus tour of London proper. It was raining and freezing here.

We took in some good sights before heading back for a group dinner with the Meistersingers.

We enjoyed a nice meal, received info about our week ahead, and crashed. Jet lag!

That’s all for today, friends. I’ll be back tomorrow with the best three days of the trip. See you then!
