My Summer 2019 Bucket List

This sumer I’ve made a promise to myself to slow down and take more time to enjoy where I live. With a four month old, it’s easy to find myself wishing time would hurry along, that he could hold his own bottle, sleep through the night, stop spitting up on everything. I’m purposely slowing myself down to enjoy the season we are in. Ther are many hidden gems in Mississippi and right here in Newton. In addition to spending lots of quality time with Baby Bounds, here are a few of my SUMMER BUCKET LIST plans…

  1. Read 20 books – I’ve been reading up a storm lately, and one thing I’ve started doing is reading children’s chapter books to Liam. It’s fun taking a trip down memory lane with the stories I loved when I was younger, and it helps not reading the same little 8 page books to Liam over and over.
  2. Visit new places in Mississippi – We are planning to take in a museum in Jackson and Dunn’s Falls before the summer is over.
  3. Take regular walks with Jud – His schedule is so wonky right now. He comes in from work and goes straight to the farm. Our time together is hit or miss, but we are intentionally slowing down and trying to enjoy strolls together around the farm.
  4. Visit the farmer’s market – We live in farming central, and there are so many fresh produce and vegetable stands. I want to visit ours and see what I can bring home for a family dinner or two.
  5. Head to the lake for a relaxing weekend – We crossed this one off our list just this past weekend!
  6. Swim with friends.
  7. Make homemade pizza.
  8. Make popsicles.
  9. Go to a movie – I cannot tell you the last time Jud and I went to the theater together.
  10. Go fishing.
  11. Go bowling – I love bowling!
  12. Make homemade ice cream.

What are you doing to enjoy summer? I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments!
