Walt Disney World Part 1

Happy Wednesday, friends!

I mentioned in my last post about the USS Alabama that we made that stop on our way to Walt Disney World. Driving to Disney is not that bad from where I live, especially when you’re bringing a newborn… Yes, I really did. I took a four-month-old to Walt Disney World. Plus Liam. Thankfully, my sweet mother-in-law sacrificed herself to go along. We were traveling with another family for Spring Break and had a great (but tiring) time.

We broke the drive in half and stayed the night in Tallahassee before heading the rest of the way to Orlando. Since it was Liam’s (and Judson’s) first time to WDW, I wanted to make sure they experienced all the magic of Disney. We chose to stay at Art of Animation resort, and since The Little Mermaid is my favorite is my favorite Disney movie, we stayed in Under the Sea quarters. The rooms were tiny, but they were definitely full of Disney magic. Like everyone says, you spend so little time at the resort, the room size isn’t that big of a deal.

After settling in, we let the kiddos go straight to the pool.

Poor Juddy had no idea what was going on. This actually wasn’t his first extended trip. He went to Space Camp for several days at only two months old. #borntotravel

After the pool, it was time to go to Disney Springs for dinner at T-Rex.

And then just exploring and enjoying Disney Springs.

We got up bright and early for a full park day starting at Animal Kingdom.

Liam got his first Mickey bar!

After a full day at Animal Kingdom, we took a detour over to Magic Kingdom to enjoy their extended nighttime hours.

He finally got to ride Space Mountain, his most anticipated ride at MK.

Disney is so good about allowing littles, even babies, on a lot of the smaller rides. Judson went on close to a dozen rides with me. His expression here on the teacups still cracks me up.

Our second full day was to be all Magic Kingdom, so we started with a fun breakfast at Chef Mickey in the Contemporary resort.

Then we were off to the park for a ton of fun!

We ended our day with the amazing fireworks show at Cinderella’s castle. It was a magical day!

I’ll be back soon with Part 2 of our magical vacation!
