Our First Anniversary + 25 Weeks Update

Happy Monday to you, Friends!

This weekend marked two important milestones that I wanted to share with you today. Baby Bounds is now 25 weeks – and big! He’s already above average in length and weight which further proves he’s got the Monroe genetics – bless his heart. As long as he has Judson’s (or his mother’s) disposition. They are so calm and laid back about everything. The last thing we need is another me (or my dad)! His profile and face look A LOT like my little brother Thomas. After our last ultrasound I went by my dad’s and pulled out Thomas’s earliest baby pics. Even Judson agreed that Baby Bounds is favoring Uncle T.

CRAVINGS

Nothing. It’s pretty much the usual around here. I just want bigger portions. My blood sugar drops quickly, so it’s important I stay snacking on something. (I may or may not have been nibbling on Pringles in my purse during our church business meeting the other night. I’d been there since 3:00 practicing the adult choir Christmas program, then two hours of children’s choir rehearsal, and an hour of worship. Needless to say, snacks were needed.

SYMPTOMS

I mentioned in my last pregnancy post that I was literally going numb from my right shoulder to fingertips. The chiropractor has mostly solved that symptom. Thank goodness. That was annoying. However, the sciatic and back pain has been increasing the bigger I get. This past Sunday in the early morning I woke up needing to potty and literally couldn’t move. Apparently Baby Bounds was on some nerve that practically paralyzed me in my sleep. The worst part though was when I did finally move, my whole body spasmed. All the way down my spine and legs. My back was arching and my legs and feet were curling under. I screamed bloody murder. Judson never sleeps through the night, so he comes running in from the living room like a wild maniac, tripping over all the cat nonsense. Peanut started barking. It was BAD. I am still sore from that morning.

WHAT’S NEXT

Our next appointment is the glucose test, and that will mark our last monthly appointment before we start the biweeklies. It’s starting to hit me how soon Baby Bounds will be here. We have got to get a move on in his nursery. I mentioned last night the Christmas decorations will probably still be up when he gets here because I’ll be too big (and lazy) to take anything down after the first of the year.

IN OTHER NEWS…

Judson and I celebrated our First Anniversary on Sunday! If you follow me on Facebook you probably read my story about our beginnings. One day I hope to write a full blog post about our love story, but right now I am too emotional to try to put down the words. Let’s jut say I’m a big fan of Judson Bounds!

This is my favorite pic of Judson from the wedding. His smile is so natural. I think I stole this photo from my brother in law. That’s why Jud’s looking off to the side at his family.

One of my favorite traditions with Judson is taking in the Lewis Lights at Christmas. He had never been before, and seeing him take it in the first time was just like watching a child. So sweet.

This is something I never see, let alone you guys – Jud doesn’t get in pools or hot tubs like ever, but he appeased me in Jamaica!

Our everyday look – his three day stubble and me with no makeup. There’s no one I’d rather be myself with.

This is Judson’s favorite picture of us. It’s even framed on our wall. Look at that stud!

We had an early anniversary dinner on Saturday night. I love this cutie!

Happy First Anniversary, babe. Forty-nine more to go! Ha!
