Friday Favorites 12.11.20

friday favorites new

It’s Friday. It’s the most wonderful time of the year. And 2020 is almost behind us!

As always, on Fridays we join Andrea and Erika to share our favorites and a little bit of what’s going on.

Have you purchased everything on your Christmas lists? I have Liam pretty well taken care of, but I still need to pick up a few stocking stuffers. I’m leaning towards these. I have nothing for my dad, brother, or Judson, so I need to get busy! This year is just bonkers, and my normally organized planning self is so out of sorts. I’m sure I’m not the only one!

Here’s a little look at my recent favorites:

I was so excited that the Meistersingers were able to once again gather and rehearse for not one, but two, concerts this year. A small ensemble of the full choir performed J.L. Bach’s “Das ist meine Freude” for Bachtoberfest.

Unfortunately, several choir members developed Covid later in the season and we had to stop rehearsals. I’m so looking forward to singing again in 2021!

Liam finally had his first haircut! I was sorry to see his baby curls go, but he started to look like a hot mess and constantly pushed his hair out of his eyes. Now he looks like a little boy for sure!

Do you get to play on a swingset after your haircut? I sure don’t!

Several gals from church got together for a fun Christmas painting night. It was so relaxing and a nice opportunity to just get out and spend time with girlfriends.

It won’t be hung in a museum any time soon, but I was quite proud of myself.

We were also blessed to have our annual Music Ministry Christmas Banquet before the second round of Covid hit my community. We had the best time, and the entertainer was amazing!

Andrew Ishee of “The Kingsmen”

Liam didn’t know what to think about the six foot tall nutcrackers, but he sure does love his Pop!

Dad made these two for me in 1988. (My name is on the back.) I named them “Beanie” and “Weenie”. Creative, right?

And Santa was made in 1987! He is so good at woodworking. There are several more pieces dad has made through the years that I will have to show you sometime. The bench Liam is sitting on was also Dad’s creation.

After the Women’s Ministry had to cancel our Christmas party and it was too late to cancel our caterer, we used our meal to bless Newton’s first responders!

I wanted to share this pie I made with you because it was so delish. It’s a rustic cranberry apple pie. You can find the recipe here.

That’s all for this week, friends! Let me know what your holly jolly plans are for this weekend in the comments!
