Harmony Park Safari
When we visited Huntsville, AL for our visit to the US Space and Rocket Center, we looked for other little mini adventures to add to the itinerary. One of those adventures led us to Harmony Park Safari. Harmony Park is a drive thru safari experience where you can pet and feed exotic animals right in the comfort of your car. Liam and I visited a similar safari in our Fall O’Fun, but this one had a more swamp-like feel in the deep woods.
Harmony Park is 30 acres of endangered or disowned exotic (and some not-so-exotic) animals on the outskirts of Huntsville. Judson and Thomas had never experienced anything like this, and they truly enjoyed it. We had such a fun time!
How often does a zebra stick his head in the car window for a selfie? Such a great start to my actual birthday!
I’ve always had a soft spot for giraffes.
Scottish Highland Cattle are a big hit in my family. Judson and I actually spent some time with them in the wild in Scotland.
I give Jud grief because he looks like he’s engaged in deep conversation with this alpaca.
Liam was not exactly a fan of emus. They would stick their necks into the car looking for food and would often peck us.
Judson took this picture and said whatever this thing is looks like something straight out of the apocalypse. I tend to agree!
Whoever started these drive thru safaris was onto something. They are so fun and a neat way to introduce children to wild animals. We highly recommend a stop by Harmony Park Safari!
