Life Lately

Gratitude turns what we have into enough.

At least, that’s what I’ve been telling myself lately. Our world is suffering. I don’t feel it’s my place to share my woes when much worse is going on all around us. I promise this isn’t a pity party post; it is from my heart, so please keep reading.  These last three months have been a big pain in the ole booty. I was trying to make the best of our safer at home lives keeping my wild weasel, Liam, occupied and happy. We have created mini adventures to replace all of our upturned plans.

Then May happened.

And now June.

Jeanie is tired. I want my blog to be a little happy place where I can share my life with all of you. My life quote has always been, “I just want to make people laugh.” I’m not doing a very good job of that lately, and I’m sorry. But I have learned a very important lesson: our feelings are valid. Someone is always going to be hurting worse than you, but it’s still okay for you to express your feelings too. God sees you and hears you  – and I do too.

This blog has traditionally been one-sided. Many of you comment or email me, while the majority of you reach out on social media. My original intention was to use this blog to grow my platform as a writer and speaker. It has. I’m learning that to make the most impact, I have to be in a place to listen as well. This is where I need you.

In addition to the fun, family, and faith that I share on here, I will also be posting more in-depth messages and Bible studies. New pages will be created where you can reference all of my previous writings. It’s time we get down to business. While May was seriously the worst month of my life for many reasons (not just Mom’s passing), it was also the month that God gave me a swift kick in the pants. Seminary is over. I have received the education. I have received the direction. It’s now time to act. From this will come what I hope to be the best 6 months with Jesus ahead. We have BIG plans, and I’ve said yes.

Thank you to all of you who have read along since September 2014. It means more to me than you will ever know. So this is what I am asking, HOW CAN I BETTER SERVE YOU? What are biblical or faith topics that I can address to better your understanding? Are there current events that I should be taking the time to digest on here? This blog has never been about me. It has been aboutGod’s story unfolding through me. One more thing…
