Merry Everything

Merry Tuesday, friends!

You guys, it’s December 18th, and my holiday-loving heart has a big assortment of festive Christmas cheer to share with you today. Liam and I are trying to live our most festive lives right now despite the big gaping hole in our hearts. Everything we do reminds us of the one who’s not here to do it with us. It’s lonely. It’s maddening. It’s life. We don’t run from our grief; we just know God is in the grief, accept it, and go about our Christmas fun.

Here’s a little look at our holiday life lately…

We always enjoy visiting Landrum’s Homestead in Laurel for their Christmas festivities!

We actually ran into this Santa Claus a few days later at a restaurant in Hattiesburg. He remembered Liam and sat down (in a red button up with suspenders and jeans) at our table to “check in” to see if Liam was still behaving. He also pulled a matchbox car out of his pocket and left it with Liam. It was so special! He was a great Santa!

Liam enjoyed a kids nutcracker painting class at the Historic McElroy Hoye House.

We rode our church’s float in the Newton Christmas parade. Liam fell asleep in the first ten minutes, and one of my sweet friends ending up holding him the whole ride.

I love this group right here! We had our MOPS Leadership Christmas party, ate lots of yummy food, and played silly games.

Lots of date nights with my main man…

We had our annual women’s ministry Christmas party with ornament exchange, and I managed to get one photo…

Crafts, crafts, and more crafts!

Liam was a pro at stringing cranberries for one of our trees…

Another weekend, another date!

We drove over to Canton to see their big holiday light display and see my college roommate…

Christmas around the square in Decatur is always a good idea…

My beautiful friends from the Junior Auxiliary sponsored Santa photos…

And as usual, I’m singing somewhere every weekend!

No matter how busy we are, Liam and I are reminded of Judson at every turn. I don’t run away from these feelings or conversations. I find them more important than ever. I want to continuously remind him of his daddy and all the fun they had together to make those memories really stick.

We have a lot more Christmas fun ahead this week, and we hope you’re enjoying all the festivities too!
