Nashville, TN

Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope you all enjoyed your extra day off this weekend to celebrate our nation’s independence. We had so much fun celebrating the red, white, and blue with family and friends. If you missed it, you can find our 4th of July recap here.

Today I wanted to share a few photos from my recent visit to Nashville, TN. I attended the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting and enjoyed spending a few days with my Aunt who lives nearby. I stayed an extra day to visit Franklin and Nashville proper. Here’s a little recap of my time!

The Great Commission is what it is all about.

I really enjoyed the North American Mission Board’s SEND Conference. This is where we spend two days focusing on reaching the lost here in North America.

My favorite part of the whole week was the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary alumni luncheon.

I just love this Seminary so much! My time there will never be taken for granted. I love hearing how they continue to prepare and send.

And this was hilarious! Only New Orleans would bring a marching jazz band to the SBC conference! There were more than a few eye rolls from the other seminaries!

I so enjoyed touring downtown Franklin with my Aunt Carole!

For the touristy things, I went to the Country Music Hall of Fame. I have to confess, I despise country music. It hurts my ears. All that twang and whiney mumbo jumbo. However, when in Nashville…

I will admit this industry isn’t going anywhere and parts were even interesting to me.

Just seeing how music was written 50+ years ago…

And all the costumes and instruments.

Elvis’s gold Cadillac from his country days…

The set and costumes from Hee Haw…so many memories from watching Hee Haw at my Granny and Papa Monroe’s.

Reba’s famous dress… I love me some Reba!

And Shania’s…

I really enjoyed the Hall of Fame!

After the HoF, I walked around downtown.

I went to the Grand Ole Opry. I didn’t tour the inside, but I went to the shops and walked the grounds. It’s huge!

I even stopped to call Baby Bounds from the Opry.

One last stop for me was at the Parthenon.

I had no idea this existed, but Aunt Carole suggested I visit.

There’s both a museum and art gallery inside. Very interesting!

I loved being able to incorporate a special meeting with special memories. Those are the best trips! Thanks for stopping by again today, and I will see you back here tomorrow!
