Road Trip Part 3

Welcome back! I’m so glad you stopped by. I truly appreciate you for following along as my family explores abundant life! Today I am sharing Part 3 of my summer Mommy and Me Road Trip with Liam. I had meant to post this months ago, but as you learned in yesterday’s post, life has a way of happening while you’re busy making other plans. Let’s take a look!

For the final leg of our Road Trip, Liam and I had a different stop every day. We started at the Tupelo Buffalo Park!

If you’ve ever visited a drive thru safari (we’ve gone to two others), this one was a little different. Buffalo don’t get out of the way. If they want the food, they will get the food. They will not let you drive around freely!

We picked up Liam’s great-great-aunt Virginia for this outing. We spent lots of time with extended family on this trip. So special!

From Tupelo we went to Amory to see some more great-greats! They had an older radio that Liam fell in love with. He would turn it on and jam to early 90s country. It was hilarious!

From Amory we went to Bruce, MS. My maternal grandparents are from Bruce and are buried there. We visited their grave, and I introduced Liam to his great-grandparents.

We then met some other great-greats (I have a huge family on both sides) from Houlka for the best catfish I’ve had in MS!

The following day we were off to Jackson to meet up with…

Daddy!

We visited the Mississippi Agricultural Museum of which my grandfather Monroe was a founding historian and contributor.

Judson loves sharing this kind of thing with his little buddy.

Liam’s first official ice cream cone!

Then we were off to the MS Children’s Museum in Jackson.

I think Daddy had as much fun as Liam!

The final day of our Road Trip took us to Pelahatchie, MS to visit Jellystone Park.

It’s a small but fun little water park in the woods. We had a great time!

Bye, Yogi!

After a nice steak dinner with my boys…

Liam had reached his max!

But there’s no place like home!

I am so thankful Liam and I were able to take this 8-day road trip together. I am already planning next year’s in my head. These are moments I will treasure forever – and I really can handle that little weasel 24/7! Whoo! He was a handful at times, but we had the best time. Especially visiting family. One of my great-uncles we visited passed just a couple weeks ago. Love your family, friends. See them as often as you can!

If you missed my other Road Trip recaps you can find PART ONE here and PART TWO here. Thank you so much for reading today. I hope you’re inspired to try a solo parenting adventure too.
