20 Weeks

TWENTY WEEKS.

How has it already been twenty weeks? Then again, it feels like it’s been a lot more at times. Most of the time I function regularly and forget I’m even pregnant. Then the pregnancy energy zap occurs, and I’m done for. I get incredibly tired in the afternoon/early evening. I’m eating constantly. Food of choice?

Meat.

CRAVINGS

I’ve had no weird pregnancy cravings. Honestly, I haven’t had any real cravings at all. I’ve wanted my mother-in-law’s fried chicken a few times, and I’d rather eat a turkey sandwich for a snack than ice cream. As long as I have some kind of snack nearby I’m good. I had Judson leave Sunday School one morning to go to the car for some Goldfish. I absolutely cannot let my stomach get too empty or my blood sugar drops, I get woozy, and well, you can imagine the rest. Bathroom bound.

In the grand scheme of things I haven’t thrown up that much. Maybe ten times total. But I can do a mean dry heave. It’s like the Exorcist at times. I scare the girls at work, but that just makes it funnier!

SYMPTOMS

Other than starving and being dead tired my pregnancy symptoms include itching, sciatic pain, and complete and total numbness in my right arm and hand. I’ve had to start eating and carrying important things in my left hand. I saw a chiropractor twice last week and will continue seeing him weekly for the rest of my pregnancy. So far the pain and numbness haven’t eased, but holistically I feel better. I can definitely move around better.

GENERAL

While I’m the queen of nesting and decor and celebrating EVERY holiday and season, I’ve been slow to start planning a nursery. I’m just not big on themed nurseries (I change my mind way too often), and honestly, I’m just not that into anything boy nursery I see on Pinterest. I’d rather think for a little while longer before making any decisions.

NAME

Judson and I do have a name picked out. We are 99.99% sure of what we are going to call Baby Bounds. We will tell immediate family and friends soon for monogramming purposes, but other than that we are keeping it on the down low. The first name will be Celtic in honor of my Scottish clan heritage, and the middle name is a family name.

WHAT’S NEXT

We have our anatomy ultrasound and monthly checkup this Friday. I can’t wait to see Baby Bounds’s face up close and personal. And those feet…he’s definitely got Monroe feet already! They were longer than average at 16 weeks, so I can just imagine his little water skis growing bigger each week.

I can’t wait to meet you, Little Man. You are already loved so much!
