Gatlinburg Part 1
Hello, friends! Happy Wednesday to you. Today I wanted to share some photos of our Spring Break trip to Gatlinburg, TN. Judson and I were so looking forward to this little getaway as a family. Things were going so well with his treatment, he had finally built up some PTO, and of course February 19th changed all of that. We found out about the cancer spreading to other organs and wound up in Texas for three weeks instead. Not the vacation we had in mind! Our cabin was non-refundable, so Liam and I took a little road trip to the Smokies on our own. Some people love to tell me I am crazy taking a child off by myself, but we LOVE our adventures together. These memories will never be taken from us!
This was not Liam’s first time to stay in a cabin, but you would have thought it was. He was ecstatic! I was honestly less than impressed with where we stayed. I won’t mention the company name or the cabin, but it was NOT as described. You couldn’t even shut the bathroom door without stepping into the tub.
We had great hiking and waterfalls all around us.
Liam enjoyed a meal at the historic Old Mill!
And he really enjoyed his first time in a hot tub! We hopped in every single night.
Dollywood! Love Dollywood – but not during Spring Break. It felt like Disney World with the crowds…
Liam had a blast for about two hours before the complaining started. Tis life with a 4 year old!
We went back to the cabin for more exploring.
The following day was a little rainy, so we went Ripley’s Aquarium.
Liam and I both petted the jellyfish and stingrays, and we stopped to look at ALL. THE. SHARKS.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a few more photos. Thanks for stopping by!
